ST. ALBAN ANGLICANS WELCOME CHRIST THE KING ON PALM SUNDAY

Palm Sunday saw an exuberant welcome for Christ the King from the Anglicans of St. Alban the Martyr Church in Capreol.

Parishioners, children, officers and clergy of the recently restored Anglican church of St. Alban the Martyr held a short service in the cenotaph park.

This was followed by singing and a procession to the church for the balance of the service for Palm Sunday that commemorates Jesus triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

Children joyfully waved palm branches and palm fronds as they joined in the singing of ‘ “All Glory Laud and Honour to thee redeemer King”, led by our choir director, and a Capreol music teacher, Heather Charsley.

There were daily services in the church during Holy week; these culminated with a great Easter celebration service. After the service we enjoyed an egg hunt, egg-rolling competition, and other games for the children.

All of us at the Church of St. Alban the Martyr wish you a blessed Easter season, from now until Pentecost, and then a relaxing and safe summer.

                                                   The Rev. Veronica Roynon.
