Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club Provide Trout Pond Fishing Experience For Handicapped

As a result of donations from local sponsors, the Trailsmen Rod & Gun Club, located several minutes north of Val Therese, has been able to expand its clubhouse to include an access ramp, deck and gazebo as well as the installation of wheelchair accessible washroom facilities. The $8000 construction has been done by members of the club.
Rolly Frappier, shown below cooking up a storm on the BBQ, is President of the organization. “We have always wanted to make our facilities more accessible to the disabled. We invite them out to enjoy our trout pond and now their experience can be that much better.”

Members of the group volunteer their time to teach disabled youngsters how to fish and give them information on conservation. If you would like more information on the club or would like to arrange to bring a disabled boy or girl for a fishing experience, contact Rolly Frappier at  897-2478.
