Exercising His Fundamental Right To Vote Is Important To Bryan Tyers

Brian Tyers, shown in the photo depositing his ballot during the Municipal Elections held on November 13, feels it is important that people take the time to exercise their fundamental democratic right to vote. The voter turnout for the election this time around was approximately 40% across the region - a disappointing level considering all of the work that was done by candidates and election workers.

With the federal election scheduled for November 27, citizens will once again be asked to step forward to fill out another important ballot. It is hoped that more people will take the small amount of time needed to make democracy work.

The final results of the Ward 3 vote was as follows:

  1. Ron Dupuis     2,887 (20%)

  2. Louise Portelance   2,617 (16%)

  3. Andre Rivest   2,340 (16%)

  4. Joe Niceforo    1,916 (13%)

  5. Maurice Lamoureux   1,395 (10%)

  6. Marc Landry    1,010 (7%)

  7. Roger Trottier   1,000 (7%)

  8. Leonard Zivny    913 (6%)

  9. Nicky Doyon       585 (4%)

Ron Dupuis and Louise Portelance will represent Ward 3 on the Council for  the City of Greater Sudbury during the next three years.

On behalf of all residents of Ward 3, The Vision Community Paper would like to thank  all candidates for stepping forward and giving us a choice. We also want to congratulate Ron Dupuis and Louise Portelance on their victory and wish them the very best of luck in their new leadership role.
