Val Caron Kwik-Way Wins Renegades Hockey Tournament

ValCaronKwikWay.jpg (63102 bytes)After losing their first game in the tournament, Val Caron Kwik-Way won 4 straight games to win the Novice Division of the Valley East Renegades Hockey Tournament on the weekend of March 23-25.

The victorious champs are shown in the photo  following the presentation of their trophies. In the front row, from the left: Michel Jameus, Yves Vouriort, Kyle St. Marseille, Jason Vaillancourt, Jordan Snow and Alain Beaulieu. The middle row: Joel Moncion, Mathieu Kilganon, Robert Dubois, Steven McAnulty and Ross Dokis. Back row: Wayne Campbell (Manager), Colin McAnulty (Assistant Coach), Bruce Vaillancourt (Coach) and Grant Dokis (Trainer).

In the final game, Kwik-Way defeated Sudbury L.A. Kings 3 to 2. Ryan Johnston scored two goals for the Kings, giving them a 2 to 0 lead, but Kwik-Way never gave up, scoring three straight goals in the final period. Yves Vouriort scored the winning goal with only 4 minutes remaining in the game. Also scoring for Kwik-Way were Joel Moncion and Michel Jameus.

In semi-final action, Yves Vouriort scored two of his four goals seven seconds apart as Kwik-Way downed Sports North Storm 7 to 1. In round-robin play, they lost 5 to 2 to Thessalon before downing Blind River 4 to 3 and Gore Bay 3 to 0.
