Nail Extensions
are an artificial add on to the natural nail to add extra length.
Many people ask what is the difference between gel nails and acrylic
nails. The difference is as follows;
Gel nails offer
strength and durability and last approximately three to four weeks
before refills are required. Gel nails consist of a one part liquid
only and has no unpleasant odour. They are more durable, more
natural looking, non-yellowing, no lifting, the shine will last up
to four weeks and they do not eat up the nail plate. Only hand
filing is required to apply these nails.
Acrylic
nails last approximately two weeks before refills are required.
Acrylic is a two part composition, a powder mixed with an acrylic
liquid monomer that is strong in smell when not cured and eats at
the natural nail plate. The drills are used for filing and does
strip away the nail plate causing permanent damage to the nail bed.

back to other types on nails.
