No doubt you're probably wondering
why the heck did she take
a picture of a balcony, on a very ordinary looking building!
Well, on this section of Fifth Avenue, across from Central Park,
there are no such things as 'ordinary' buildings.
This happens to be the building where Jackie O resided in,
and the balcony was her balcony.
Apparently, she wanted a balcony off her apartment, so she
could step outside and take in the views and fresh air
of Central Park. The Apartment Board, which each of these
prestigious buildings on Fifth Avenue has, originally told her
"No...you can't have a balcony on the building...it will
take away from the look of the building."
That didn't stop Onasis. He went to the Board and told them
that either his wife got her balcony, or he would buy the
building, rip it down, and they would all be looking for
new homes.
Needless to say, she got her balcony!
