"VALLEY EAST - A PLACE TO GROW" - Greetings From the Publisher, ROBERT KIRWAN

This is the 10th Weekly Issue of the Valley East Today Electronic Newsletter. It also commemorates a "new beginning" for the community in that we are about to focus our attention on one of the most important municipal elections ever held in this region. The results of the voting on November 13, 2006 will have more of an impact on the future of the City of Greater Sudbury than any other election in the past. It is imperative that the citizens of all twelve wards be completely informed of the major issues and their implications prior to November 13. Each week from now until the elections are held, we will try to provide some food for thought and generate some discussion on one or more of the major issues facing, not only the residents of Valley East, but also facing the entire City of Greater Sudbury. We look forward to your feedback and opinions as we all struggle with the challenges facing us today and tomorrow.

I hope you enjoy the feature articles and stories that are highlighted in this edition and I encourage you to forward this newsletter to as many of your friends and acquaintances in your "address book" as possible. With your help we expect the Valley East Today Electronic Newsletter to reach over 20,000 people each week. For more about the Valley East Today Community Web Site>>>

We want to thank all of our readers who have taken time to send us feedback about the articles that have appeared in previous editions of the Electronic Newsletter. The Valley East Today Community Web Site has been created as a communication tool to help people from local communities keep in touch and connected. Please feel free to send us your comments. The Golden Box of Birthday Kisses…

As the story goes, one day a long time ago, a young mother walked into her 5-year old daughter’s bedroom and was extremely upset to see that the little girl had used almost a whole roll of expensive gold wrapping paper to decorate a small package about the size of a shoe box. The child was told to get her pajamas on and go to bed immediately without watching TV or getting her usual bedtime snack. For the full>>>>
